Let’s spruce up Salisbury’s back door — N.C. 150
Well, if Paul Fisher calls Granite Quarry a gateway, would he think of N.C. 150 as a back door? If he’d consider it, I’d say, “Hey Paul, how about helping make this busy back entry to Salisbury safer and more visitor friendly?”
Many residents can relate tales of close calls along this stretch of Highway 150 that empties into Jake Alexander’s most dangerous intersections. Tractor trailers speed up this narrow road that carries school buses, bicyclists and turns that go directly into neighborhoods. Larger shoulder, lower speed limits, turn lanes, round a-bouts — there must be a solution.
It’s rather ludicrous that the “Bicycling Rowan County Map” directs bicyclists along and across Highway 150. As a recreational rider, I pray and pedal only early Sunday mornings as I explore suburban neighborhoods and country roads.
Folks like to keep their back door attractive and safe to encourage friends and visitors to stop by. Is there a way to do that for one of Salisbury’s busiest back doors?

Increase in utility fees?
Why should we have to pay higher water-sewer rates when the utility has supplied thousands of dollars to support Fibrant? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Stop the insanity
I fail to understand how anyone could support murder, and that’s exactly what is happening every time an abortion is performed. I demand my political candidates be held accountable for the “murders” being performed each and every day. Not only is it my duty but each and everyone of our duties to stop this insanity.
