Amazing response by police officers
The writer is referring to the armed robbery at Walgreens on East Innes Street.

On Sunday night, my husband and I were pulling into a parking spot right outside the entrance of Walgreens and were about to enter the store just as the first officers entered the building and others quickly surrounded it. The care they took to get those inside out safely and get us out of the parking lot as quickly as possible was a perfect example of police work at its finest. It was clear there was a strategic plan in place that was quickly enacted for just such an event.
As a citizen, that is quite reassuring.
I just wanted to take a minute to thank all the law enforcement officers and first responders involved for the amazing response to the robbery at Walgreens.
As the aunt of a law enforcement officer and a firefighter in New York, I sincerely appreciate all you do for all of us each and every day. Your sacrifices are many and deserved to be recognized.

83 days ridiculous
I cannot believe that it takes months for a veteran to get an appointment with a VA doctor. Who would put up with an insurance carrier that made you wait 83 days to see your doctor? And the “goal” is two weeks. Are they kidding? If you are sick, you need to see a doctor right away. Is the VA medical system a Third World country?
If I am sick, my doctor can always fit me in the same day or the next.
This is outrageous. These men and women have laid their lives on the line so that we can be happy and secure here at home. The absolute minimum we should tolerate as a society is that our heroes get timely medical care.

Can’t beat it
I have been a patient for 25 plus years. I had an appointment with my doctor six weeks ago and told him I needed a hearing test. Within two days I had an appointment with an audiologist and within four weeks I had my hearing aids. You can’t beat that kind of service.

West’s compassion
After hearing all the nonsense that so many high school seniors do as pranks, my husband and I were impressed with West Rowan seniors thinking of how they can make life better for someone else. We don’t know the family of the student who lost his life, but I’m sure they were blessed by the love shown by these students. It would be wonderful if more students had the maturity and compassion that these students displayed. Way to go West Rowan!
