Rowan weather: Sunny, but beware of burning

Remember we are looking at increased fire danger today, thanks to gusty northwest winds and relatively low humidity, around 20 percent.
Avoid any outdoor burning and check with your local city/town office for local permitting.
If you are outside a municipality, you may obtain a burning permit online at http://ncforestservice.gov/burn_permits/burn_permits_main.htm or at one of the authorized permit agent locations listed here: https://www.rowancountync.gov/GOVERNMENT/Departments/EmergencyServices/FireDivision/Forestry/BurningPermit.aspx
Use extreme caution today with any combustible or smoking material. The fire danger will last throughout this evening.
Sunny skies with a high near 69 will make this an otherwise pleasant day. Winds will be around 9 to 13 mph, with gusts up to 22 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 41.

A 40 percent chance of thunderstorms comes along Friday, mostly after 9 a.m., with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 75. Friday night will clear out and we’ll have a low of 52.
