We’re looking at another hazardous weather day today. The National Weather Service predicts scattered to numerous storms will develop along and ahead of a cold front this afternoon. We can expect occasional cloud-to-ground lightning, briefly heavy rainfall and some wind gusts above 40 mph. The strongest storms are expected to be along and east of Interstate 77 late this afternoon, right in our neighborhood.

Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 78. Tonight the showers and storms continue until about 9 p.m., then taper off with gradual clearing and a low of 46. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent today, 60 percent tonight.

But Wednesday, good weather returns. It will be sunny and around 69 degrees. Winds will stick around, from the north northwest, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Wednesday night should be clear, and we’ll drop to 42 degrees.

Thursday, winds will calm down and it will be sunny with a high near 72 and a low of 54.

There’s another 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday, especially after 1 p.m. It will be partly sunny with a high near 76. Thunderstorms may stretch into the night, with a low around 53.

Saturday and Sunday still look great, with sunny skies Saturday and a high near 79; the low will be around 53. Sunday, sunny with a high near 76, followed by a partly cloudy sky and a low around 53 again.

Even Monday looks good: High 75.
