The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office reported charging two people with drug offenses after traffic stops earlier this week.
On Monday, Sgt. C.L. Stone of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on a 1999 Ford F-150 on Cornelius Road because the vehicle’s registration plate was expired and revoked.
Stone spoke to the driver, Michael E. Page, 38, of Salisbury. Page said he did not have a valid driver’s license, and then Stone discovered Page had a prior drug history.
Page said he had hydrocodone pills that were not prescribed to him. He was charged with possession of hydrocodone, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked and displaying a revoked registration plate.
On Tuesday, Stone conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Jeep on Ostwalt Amity Road after observing a traffic violation. Stone spoke to the driver, Breanna D. Erwin, 21, of Cleveland, and advised her she would be getting a warning. But Stone’s report said he noticed she appeared nervous. He questioned her about the possibility of illegal contraband inside her vehicle. Erwin admitted to having a marijuana grinder and digital scales in her vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and the items were located along with a bag of marijuana and cigarillos. The items were seized and Erwin was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
