Elite, Green Dragons win soccer tournament

Rowan County’s U-12 Elite boys soccer team took home gold in the FCCA First Strike Tournament held in Concord.
The Elite twon two games Saturday and two on Sunday, including a 3-1 win in the championship game.
Rowan was led by Grayson Vail in goal.
The tournament victory moved Elite into the top 25 in North Carolina and into the top 200 teams nationally.

Green Dragons
The FCCA U-10 Green Dragons (22-10-2) won the First Strike Tournament in Concord, with teams participating from multiple Mid-Atlantic and Southern states.
TheGreen Dragons won three games, outscoring opponents 21-5.
Leading the scoring for the Green Dragons was Ben Childress with eight goals.
Maddox Goodnight scored four goals, Oscar Enciso connected for three goals and Bennett Clark had two goals.
Will Webb, Colin Donaldson, Ben Sweet and Wade Robins scored a goal each.
Will Koontz and Hank Webb were outstanding in the tournament on defense.
