On Tuesday, April 15, the N.C. Department of Transportation will modify the intersection of Organ Church Road and Old Beatty Ford Road in Rockwell to improve safety and mobility on these heavily traveled routes.
Currently, the intersection has stop signs in place on Old Beatty Ford Road, but traffic on Organ Church Road is not required to stop. The existing intersection will be realigned and offset so that motorists heading north on Organ Church Road from Kannapolis and points south will be required to stop at the intersection with Old Beatty Ford Road, turn right on to Old Beatty Ford Road and travel about 600 feet, then turn left to continue on the new alignment of Organ Church Road.
Motorists heading south on Organ Church Road from Faith and points north will be required to stop at the relocated intersection with Beatty Ford Road, turn right on to Old Beatty Ford Road and travel about 600 feet, then turn left to continue on the new alignment of Organ Church Road.
Access to Greeneā€™s Mobile Home Park will be relocated to the new alignment of Organ Church Road, north of Beatty Ford Road.
During construction, motorists can expect intermittent, temporary lane closures and flagging operations. At no time will motorists be required to use an off-site detour route. NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
