Kannapolis Police looking for man accused of stabbing his father

KANNAPOLIS — Police are looking for a man accused of stabbing his father with a kitchen knife in the back at their Sides Road home. The incident occurred Sunday night following an altercation between the two.
Police investigators are asking for the public’s help in finding John Preston Campbell Jr., 21, whom they say is 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, medium build, with red hair and green eyes. He is wanted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. John Preston Campbell Sr. told police and witnesses that his son stabbed him in the back and he received a cut to the stomach.
Police searched the area for John Campbell Jr., who left the home, but were unable to locate him. John Campbell Sr. was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast where he is recovering from his injuries.
