Great Book Caper April 12 is for kids

What do you get when you combine kids, clues, scavenger hunts, forensics, authors and books? You get The Great Book Caper, a special festival presented by Rowan-Salisbury Schools and Rowan Public Library.
This free festival will be Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Rowan Public Library Headquarters, 201 W. Fisher St. It will celebrate the joy and mystery of reading for kids of all ages, with local and regional authors as well as activities sponsored by individual schools and businesses. Participants will have a chance to show off their skills at reading clues, taking fingerprints and solving puzzles. There may even be a chance to try a mock crime scene investigations.
In addition to activities for the kids, there will be local and regional authors selling books, signing autographs and chatting with the crowd. Festivities will take place on the front lawn and in the street at Rowan Public Library Headquarters in Salisbury. Admission is free, and there will be fun for all ages.
