CHINA GROVE — The town of China Grove will commemorate a number of anniversaries in a March 8 celebration at town hall.
The town will celebrate its 125th year, the China Grove Fire Department its 90th anniversary, and the Historical Society of South Rowan its 25th year. Although the actual date is March 11, the town will celebrate with a 2:30 p.m. ceremony on March 8 because that’s a Saturday.
Mayor Don Bringle is expected to read a proclamation and activities will continue across the street at 3 p.m. at the Roller Mill Museum. Visitors will be able to ride through town in a wagon pulled by horses from Lazy 5 Ranch from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be an old fashion wiener roast at the free event, but donations will be accepted.
This event is sponsored by the town of China Grove, the Historical Society of South Rowan and the China Grove Board of Trade. The China Grove Roller Mill is located 308 N. Main St.
