Children are our primary concern when roads become dangerous — ah, teachers, not so much.
The district closes school for students, but teachers must report at their appointed time or forfeit a day’s pay from their already dismal salary (47th in the nation regarding teacher pay!). Should we not care about teachers’ safety and well-being as much as the students?
Let’s get our priorities straight, people! Oh, well, teachers are cheaper by the dozen unless they choose to teach out of state!

Our daughter who lives in Asheboro just had her propane tank filled at $2.79 per gallon. We just had ours filled in Salisbury at more than $5 per gallon. What a difference 45 miles makes!
