First Calvary Baptist Church’s anti-bullying workshop is today, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m.
The Rev. William Moody, policeman, certified personal trainer and martial arts instructor, will lead the session.
Others present will be professional law enforcement personnel and community volunteers. The workshop is free and open to the public.

The Blessing of God holds history program
LEXINGTON — The Blessing of God Ministry, 412 Westside Drive, will sponsor a Black History program today, Saturday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. on the theme “The 10 Most Influential Black Women in America.”
The public is invited to attend. There is no admission fee.
First UCC observes Women’s Sunday
First United Church of Christ will observe Women’s Sunday at the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, Feb. 9.
In observance of UCC Women’s Week, the women of the church will lead all phases of the worship service.
The Chancel Choir under the direction of Matthew Newton, and organist Susan Trivette, will sing.
First UCC is located in the Salisbury Historic District at 207 West Horah St., where Rev. Carol Hallman is pastor.
Hall’s Chapel hosts Valentine Tea Sunday
Hall’s Chapel Matrons will observe their annual Valentine’s Tea on Sunday Feb. 9 at 4 p.m.
Speaker of the hour will be Rev. Evelyn Mattison Lytaker of Macedonia Missionary Baptist of Salisbury, with music by Earnest Byrd and Eric Reed.

Gospel Plowboys at Calvary Tabernacle
The Gospel Plowboys will be singing this Sunday night, Feb. 9, at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Road. The singing gets underway at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited.
2 bell choirs to play at St. Matthew’s Lutheran
Second Sunday Singing at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church will be presented by St. Matthew’s hand bell choir directed by Beverly Ludwig, and Union Lutheran Church’s Belles and Beaus hand bell choir directed by Tonya Brittain.
The two choirs will take turns playing individually and together to create an evening of inspiration and entertainment tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m.

Rowan Deacon Alliance holding revival
The Rowan Deacon Alliance Inc. will be celebrating it 25th anniversary and revival this Sunday, Feb. 9 through Wednesday Feb. 12 at Jerusalem Baptist Church.
On Sunday the speaker will be Dr. C.L. Phelps and his choir, ushers and congregation.
The program will begin at 3 p.m. Revival, beginning Monday, will begin at 7 p.m.
Monday’s scheduled speaker is Rev. Timothy Bridges, pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church of Salisbury.
Tuesday, the speaker is Evangelist Cathy Marlin, associate pastor of Fairview Heights Baptist Church in Salisbury.
Wednesday night features Dr. David Bracken, pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Rose of Sharon to celebrate black history
Rose of Sharon Holiness Church, 255 Camp Road, will host a Black History Celebration next Saturday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m.
Special guest speaker and presenter will be Brother Randy Leggette of Charlotte, who recently guided a tour in Africa and will share from his experience in Egypt: ou don’t have to die a slave.
Deadline to sign up for enrichment training
The registration deadline is Feb. 15 for the Prepare/Enrich Training and Certification event designed to equip participants to administer and interpret pre-marriage and post-marriage inventories.
Dr. Bill Mitcham will be the instructor. The training will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the NC Lutheran Synod Office, 1988 Lutheran Synod Drive.
