Rowan weather: Snow on Tuesday?

A chance of what?
Snow is back in the forecast for next Tuesday and Wednesday, though we have several days for that to change.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Rowan and surrounding areas, staring with a wintry mix possible Tuesday. Forecasters say a low pressure system will develop over the Gulf of Mexico and interact with cold air already over the Carolinas. “Abundant moisture will accompany this system,” the forecast says. And it gets worse. Significant accumulations of snow and ice are possible through Wednesday night.
Never believe it until you see it, but we have gotten some big snows with storms coming out of the Gulf. There might be a last-minute trip to the grocery store in your future.
Until then, we can enjoy a partly sunny day today with a high near 50. A 40 percent chance or rain comes tonight with a low around 33.
Saturday looks like clouds and rain are back, with a high of 52.
Sunday will be another nice day, with a high near 55, and Monday could be partly sunny with a high near 45. Clouds roll in Monday night, with a cold low of 26.
At this point the chance for precipitation Tuesday and Wednesday is around 50 percent, but forecasters say they will have to wait and see how this storm develops as it heads our way.
Enjoy the sun while you can.
