Man accused of taking 19 firearms from safe

A New London man charged in connection with the theft of 19 firearms also has been charged in Rowan County for several counts of felony obtaining property by false pretenses.
A woman told Stanly County Sheriff’s Office authorities she believed her daughter’s boyfriend was responsible for the theft of 19 firearms from her gun safe in October 2012.
The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office has since recovered five of the stolen firearms, which are being held as evidence.
Charles Ronald Armeen, 35, was charged in Stanly County with felony larceny of a firearm.
Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Armeen on Monday and he is being held on $2,500 bond. His initial court appearance in Stanly County is scheduled for Jan. 27.
