SALISBURY — Rescue teams with Salisbury Fire Department freed a driver who was trapped in his overturned pickup after a three-vehicle accident Wednesday evening at N.C. 150 and Sunset Drive.

The truck’s driver had a cut to his hand, but there were no serious injuries to any of the drivers or passengers, according to Salisbury Police.

The accident was reported about 5:28 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the pickup was trying to cross N.C. 150 (Mooresville Road) from Lincolnton Road to Sunset Drive when it pulled into the path of a car headed east on N.C. 150 toward Jake Alexander Boulevard.

The car hit the truck, sending the pickup airborne. On landing, it struck a car which was crossing from Sunset Drive to Lincolnton Road, reports said.

The truck’s driver, whose identity was not available Wednesday night, was freed through the front windshield by 5:45 p.m.
