The license plate agency on East Kerr Street will be closed Monday in preparation for its move next door, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles said.

The agency is moving to 130 E. Kerr St., where it will reopen at 9 a.m. Dec. 10.

The new location will provide more suitable space for the agency and allow for the expansion of the Parole Commission, a press release said. The same contractor will continue operations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and its phone numbers will remain the same.

During the closure, nearby vehicle registration services are available at the following locations: 124 S. Salisbury St., Suite 101, Mocksville, 336-751-3303; 1509 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, 704-932-3146; 121 W. Water St., Statesville, 704-873-3185; 1033 Randolph St., Suite 13, Thomasville, 336-476-5070.

License plate agencies offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations.
