Life on a farm is challenging in many ways. Racing through one can be tougher. The Patterson Farm Pumpkin Dash will take you through a maze, vineyard, and lots of other farm obstacles. Distance of the run will be about 3.8 miles. Participants will get wet and muddy.

A race for individual participants will start at 9 a.m. and teams will compete at 10 a.m. Individual racers can run again as part of a team. Teams of 2 people, 4 people and coeds mixtures are all eligible. The Little Farm Hands ½-mile run is open to kids 12 and under and will start at 11 a.m. Awards are set for 11:30 a.m.

Top individuals in seven age division will receive awards. All winning team members will get awards. All participants will get long sleeve, commemorative, dri-fit shirts and refreshments. Admission to other Patterson Farm activities after the race is included in the registration fee.

Race Director Michelle Patterson said, “We are excited about the Pumpkin Dash. Everyone had a great time last year. Come out and see if you are tough enough to be a farmer. Then stay around with us and have a great time for the rest of the day. We have lots of fun for the whole family.”

Registration will continue all week at Patterson Farm Market and Tours, 10390 Caldwell Road, Mt. Ulla, NC 28125. Online registration is available at www.sportoften.com. A printable race registration brochure is available at www.salisburyrowanrunners.org.

All proceeds go the United Way of Rowan County.
