Parents and children 5 years old and younger are invited to Smart Start Rowan for its fall festival on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. to noon. Smart Start Rowan is hosting the fall festival to acquaint parents with the services available to families with children birth to 5.

Children will have the opportunity to trick or treat and take part in games such as pumpkin toss, ring the duck, fishing, bottle toss, face painting, as well as have a chance to decorate his or her own paper pumpkin. Each family will also receive a book to take home and enjoy.

The Rodney W. Queen Early Learning Resource Center, which includes a lending library and a parent/teacher workroom, will be open for parents and children to explore. The library is filled with books, music, videos, puzzles and developmentally appropriate toys.

Smart Start Rowan is located at 1839-B Jake Alexander Blvd. W. For more information call 704-630-9085.
