SALISBURY — The Rowan County Council on Aging will sponsor Stump ‘n Stew, a special event to provide an opportunity for older adults to meet candidates for Salisbury City Council.

All nine City Council candidates have been invited to the informal luncheon and candidates fair. The event is a drop-in from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Addie Rhem Morris Room at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center.

Each candidate will staff a table and be available to meet and talk one-on-one with senior voters. Candidates may distribute literature or other items related to their candidacy, but there will not be any speeches or group presentations.

Oak Park Retirement Center will provide a free beef and vegetable stew lunch for those who attend.
