Man in critical condition after East Spencer shooting

EAST SPENCER — A man who was shot at an East Spencer apartment complex Sunday evening is in the hospital in critical condition, an authority said.

Telvin Morgan was shot around 6:45 p.m. Sunday while at Grant Street Apartments, according to acting East Spencer Police Chief Baxter Michael. Morgan was transported from Novant Rowan Medical Center to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Investigators made contact with residents in the area and conducted a crime scene search, Michael said.

The East Spencer Police Department continues to investigate. Michael asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the department at 704-636-7111 or Salisbury-Rowan Crimestoppers at 704-638-5388.
