SALISBURY — City residents can get rid of old appliances, extra bagged trash and tires without rims next week during Salisbury’s Fall Spruce-Up Week.
From Oct. 21 to 25, residents but not businesses can take advantage of the extra garbage pick-up by placing items at the curb on their regular collection day before 7 a.m.
The city will not pick up any building materials — no carpet, padding, sinks, lumber, windows, commodes or similar items. To learn more, call 704-638-5260 or email ncast@salisburync.gov.
The city also has announced the loose leaf collection schedule, which begins this week. Loose leaves should be raked to the curb by Monday morning during your collection week.
Loose leaves throughout the city will be collected during October. From November through February, loose leaf collection will proceed by section, with the city divided into three areas.
In March, loose leaves will be collected throughout the city. Beginning March 31, all leaves and shrub clippings must be bagged or placed in a container for collection.
Grass clippings must be bagged or placed in a container year-round.
