West End group to host City Council candidate forum

SALISBURY — West End Pride, a group of residents and friends of the West End community, will host a public forum for Salisbury City Council candidates.

The event is free and open to the public at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Miller Recreation Center, 1402 W. Bank St. Light refreshments will be served. 


Organizer Shirley McLaughlin said all nine City Council candidates have told West End Pride they expect to attend.

Incumbents Paul Woodson, Maggie Blackwell, Pete Kennedy, Brian Miller and Karen Alexander are running to retain their seats on the council. Challengers are Blake Jarman, William Peoples, Rick Honeycutt and Dale Stephens.
