Fire truck parade set for 10 a.m. Saturday

SALISBURY — The Salisbury Fire Department will host a Salisbury Rowan Fire Prevention Week Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The parade route will head from south to north on Main Street from Old South Main Street to Liberty Street and will include the following vehicles:

The Salisbury Fire Department was established on Dec. 8, 1817 and is rich in tradition and history. A fire prevention parade was an annual event in Salisbury from the mid-1950s through the early 1980s.

The Salisbury Fire Department is proud to host this tradition and share the history of the Salisbury Fire Department and neighboring fire departments with the community through this year’s parade, held in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 1-6.
