CONCORD (AP) — Authorities say a missing Cabarrus County woman has been found alive lying in the water of a ravine near her home.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office says 68-year-old Dorothy Schnabel left her home Tuesday to walk her dog. Her husband returned home and called officials after realizing his wife hadn’t returned from her walk.
Search teams found the woman Wednesday morning. She was accompanied by her dog, a brown Doberman who was a rescue dog. According to the sheriff’s office, the dog stayed with the woman all night long.
Schnabel was taken to the hospital. Her condition was unknown Wednesday.
