Man killed in 1-car wreck in Kannapolis

A man died Friday evening when his car left the road and hit a stand of trees on West C Street in Kannapolis.
The Enochville Fire Department responded to a call of a one-car accident at 1903 W. C St., around 6:30 p.m.
Witnesses and neighbors say a 47-year-old man was driving on West C Street when he lost control of his truck and careened into a stand of trees along the roadside. The truck flipped onto the driver’s side, pinning the man between the truck and the trees.
The man was alive when first responders and neighbors arrived. A medical helicopter was dispactched and landed, but the man died on the scene.
The man was driving a truck with a Terry Troutman Roofing logo. Neighbors say he had been working all day on a roofing job in the area and was headed home.
