CONCORD — Concord Police have charged an East Spencer man with the July shooting death of Mario Sundray Douglas, 30.

The accused shooter is Cecil Jermaine Clay, 29, of West Geroid Street. He was arrested in Salisbury this morning and charged with first-degree murder.

Concord Police said Clay was acquainted with Douglas and investigators believe the shooting on July 13 was related to a domestic situation. Douglas, of Midland, was found near 204 Albert Court in Concord. The Salisbury Police assisted in the arrest, which occurred at 9 a.m.

Clay remains in the Cabarrus County Detention Center without bond. Clay has previously been convicted of drug possession, resisting arrest and speeding.
