It will held at S&S Outdoors, 4410 Amity Hill Rd., Cleveland from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The event will introduce children to conservation and ethical, safe hunting practices.

It will include activities such as building wood-duck nesting boxes, archery and BB-gun ranges, and skeet shooting with NRA certified instructors for older children. Demonstrations of dog retrieving and falconry are also planned.

Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served for lunch and all children will receive a hat, T-shirt, duck call and a one-year youth membership to Delta Waterfowl.

There is no charge to attend. The cost was covered by the Lake Norman Delta Waterfowl “For the Ducks” Banquet fundraiser and with donations from local businesses.

Parents can register children by emailing Include the child’s name, age, T-shirt size and the parent/guardian’s name, address, phone number and email address.
