GRANITE QUARRY — Residents of Granite Quarry are being invited to hear a short presentation on the Carolina Thread Trail.

The presentation will occur at 5:30 p.m. today in the Town Hall board room, 143 N. Salisbury Ave.

Granite Quarry and other municipalities in Rowan County are participating in the Thread Trail, a regional trail network aimed at ultimately reaching 15 counties and more than 2.3 million people.

The Catawba Lands Conservancy and other local partners head the trail effort. At present, 119 miles of the Carolina Thread Trail are open to the public in North and South Carolina, with 14 active corridors under development.
