Police have charged a Charlotte man with involvement in a number of area business break-ins and are asking for the public’s help in locating another suspect.

Carlton Calvin Wilson, 27, of Thornwood Road, is charged with felony breaking and entering and felony safecracking, the Salisbury Police Department said.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Wilson with two counts felony breaking and entering and one count felony safecracking.

Two men used a sledge hammer to break through the front door of La Alcancia on Aug. 29 and on the same morning broke into three other businesses — Napa Auto and Alfa Restaurant in Rockwell and Bostian Heights Supermarket. The sledge hammer was left at La Alcancia.

Wilson was arrested in Charlotte by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police when he showed up at his probation office.

Police are looking for Jeremy Lamont Edwards, also 27, whose last known address is 4332 Tipperary Place, Charlotte. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has also brought charges against the men as well.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jeremy Edwards is asked to contact Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
