Civitan seeks nominees for Hero Award

SALISBURY — The Civitan Club of Salisbury is seeking nominations for the Civitan Hero Award. This award is presented annually to recognize and honor those individuals whose actions might otherwise go unrecognized.
Qualifications for the award are these: a resident of Rowan County whose recent actions were extraordinary, spontaneous and motivated by the needs of others and whose heroism might go unrecognized on the job or in the community. If the individual nominated is a police officer, firefighter or in another occupation where exposure to heroic situation is likely, the individual will have performed above and beyond normal expectations or duties.
To submit a nomination for the award, write a letter about the individual and his or her deeds but do not use the person’s name in the letter. Attach a cover letter which includes the nominee’s name, your name, your address and your telephone number, along with an e-mail address if applicable.
Nominations must be received by Aug. 25. You may give your letter to a Civitan Club member or mail it to Hero Award, Civitan Club of
Salisbury, PO Box 171, Salisbury, NC, 28145.
The award will be presented at the annual awards day in early September.
