CHARLOTTE (AP) — The leader of Charlotte-area Girl Scouts council has resigned after five years.
The Charlotte Observer reports Tuesday’s announcement about Sally Daley is the latest resignation in a year-long trend.
Daley has agreed to stay with the Hornets’ Nest Council until a replacement is picked. There are 16,000 girls and 7,000 volunteers in the council that spans six counties in North Carolina and two in South Carolina.
During her tenure, a 700-acre camp in Iredell County was built with the help of $2 million from the Dale Earnhardt Foundation. It can accommodate up to 1,000 campers a night.
Daley is the second Charlotte-area nonprofit CEO to resign in the past week, after John Mackay of Discovery Place, and among more than 35 to resign in the past year.
