POWHATAN, Va. – The marriage of Miss Eleanor Lauren Ericson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Ericson of Richmond, Va., to Carlyle Prescott Sherrill of Morehead City, N.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Carlyle Sherrill, III of Mount Ulla, N.C., and Mrs. Susan Reid Beard and Mr. Robert Glenn Beard of Sandy Springs, Ga., took place July 6, 2013, at The Mill at Fine Creek in Powhatan. The Rev. Dr. Robert Sawyer of Raleigh, N.C., officiated.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carey Goodman, Jr. of Richmond, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Ericson of Long Boat Key, Fla., and Mrs. Evelyn Jean Ericson of Whitefish Bay, Wisc.
The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. Harvey Jackson Reid and Mrs. Harvey Jackson Reid of Sandy Springs, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Carlyle Sherrill, Jr. of Mount Ulla, N.C.
The bride was escorted by her father in a double-ring ceremony. Miss Lisa Klein of Owings Mills, Md., served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Halley Brantley, Jessica Brown, Jillian Higinbothom, Kristi Muscalino, Karen VanderMolen and Lauren Sherrill, sister of the groom.
Mr. Bradley Gallagher of Washington, D.C., served as best man. Groomsmen were William Ericson, brother of the bride, Grant Heberton, Adam Lomax, Trevor Murphy, Colton Sherrill, brother of the groom, and Don Williams.
Ellie is a graduate of Trinity Episcopal School and Davidson College. She received her M.A. in Spanish from North Carolina State University.
Scott is a graduate of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Ga., and Davidson College. He received his M.P.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Scott is the Town Clerk in Pine Knoll Shores, N.C.
Following a trip to the California wine country, Ellie and Scott will live in Morehead City, N.C.
