Rockwell man accused of injuring 7-week-old child

SALISBURY — A Rockwell man was arrested Saturday on charges that he intentionally abused his 7-week-old child.

Brandon Thomas Dew, 24, of Rothrock Road, was being held under $75,000 bond at the Rowan County Detention Center on Saturday.


He is charged with one count of intentional child abuse, a felony.

According to arrest records, Dew is accused of inflicting serious injuries on his child, including fractured ribs and a subdural hematoma.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred between July 1 and Aug. 8 of this year.

Dew is also charged with resisting a public officer for allegedly attempting to flee on foot as the warrant was being served.

His first appearance in court is set for Tuesday.
