Ever since they were young children, music has been a part of daily life for Shane, Mary Lynn and Alex Edwards. They grew up playing and singing music in their grandparents’ church.

Throughout the past 11 years, these siblings have been performing bluegrass gospel and bluegrass music at venues throughout North Carolina and surrounding states.

Shane is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, mandolin and bass. Mary Lynn, the fiddler, also plays bass and mandolin. Alex plays dobro, guitar, mandolin and bass, but he is best known for his award winning banjo playing, and most recently placed second at the prestigious MerleFest Banjo competition in Wilkesboro.

In 2011, Shane and Alex were featured in a documentary film, “Generation Bluegrass,” which showcases young up-and-coming bluegrass musicians.

The trio, along with the rest of their family, have been regularly featured on “Bluegrass Road,” a new television series which airs nationwide on the Blue Highways Network.
