Fibrant maintenance set for tonight, city expects no outages

SALISBURY — Fibrant will undergo scheduled maintenance starting at midnight tonight but does not expect to interrupt service.

“We are expecting no outages, although this is why we do this type of work in maintenance windows,” General Manager Mike Jury said. “The team is prepared for whatever may come up.”

Jury said the maintenance is routine and involves operating system upgrades on routers. The maintenance window is midnight to 5 a.m.

“We don’t expect any real issues,” he said.

Fibrant is the city’s new high-speed broadband service that provides Internet, phone and cable TV services in the city limits, competing with private companies like Time Warner Cable.
