More charges for Florida pair accused in vehicle break-ins
Investigators have added charges to a Florida pair who they say broke into multiple vehicles in Rowan and surrounding counties.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office additionally charged Jorane Desilus, 19, of Deefield Beach, Fla., with 10 counts of misdemeanor larceny. Her total bond is now $1,125,000. She remains in the county jail.
The Rowan Sheriff’s Office also additionally charged Keith Lashun Taylor, 27, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with 10 counts misdemeanor larceny. The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office additionally charged Taylor with three counts of felony financial transaction card theft, four counts of breaking and entering a vehicle and four counts misdemeanor larceny. His bond is now $575,000. He, too, remains in jail.
The two were captured after Mooresville Police Department began pursuing them in a Sunday morning chase. According to arrest warrants, a Mooresville officer was attempting a traffic stop to investigate the recent vehicle break-ins.
Taylor, who was driving, was driving 15 mph over the posted speed limit and was driving recklessly, the warrant said.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office picked up the chase as the vehicle entered N.C. 150. The vehicle was finally stopped along N.C. 152. Authorities said there were items in the car that had been taken from some of the vehicles. The two have been charged in other counties including Guilford, Forsyth, Randolph, Cabarrus and Iredell.
