Competition has been as warm as the weather in all of our games. But unlike the water content of the air, we have been high and dry and having good indoor fun.

We look forward to this week’s games.

The winners of the Howell Movement during Friday, Aug. 16’s Evergreen game were: First, Harold and Carol Winecoff; second, John and Myrnie McLaughlin; third, Dick Brisbin and Pat Featherston; and fourth, David and Anna Goff.

Our featured board is No. 7 from Evergreen. The best N/S score was made by Lucy Brown and Judy Hurder setting opponent’s 3NT E by 1 trick, while the best E/W score was by Anna and David Goff bidding and making 4H E. All sides are vulnerable with South dealer.

Please note: There will be no game at the Women’s Club next Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Many of our players are going to be playing at the Charlotte Regional, leaving too few to play.

We welcomed Marcia Bremsher and Fran Tannahill to our game Aug. 20.

This week our Club Championship game was won by: First, Dick Brisbin and Marie Pugh; with second going to Pat Macon and Myrnie McLaughlin. Hope to see you all Sept. 3.
