Arrest made in Clancy Hills Apartments shooting death
The FBI and police in Richmond, Va., made an arrest Friday in the July 28 shooting death of a man at Clancy Hills Apartments.
Kevin Rashee Toomer, 24, of 912 Fairmont Ave., Salisbury, was arrested in Richmond after Salisbury Police investigators obtained a murder warrant Thursday.
Toomer is accused of killing Eric Maurice Feamster, 27, who died of multiple gunshot wounds to his chest July 28.
Toomer was in jail in Richmond Saturday with no bond, pending extradition back to Salisbury.
Witnesses told the Salisbury Post at least seven shots were fired into a group outside the Clancy Hills Apartments at about 4:30 the morning of July 28.
Two men were wounded, including Feamster and 25-year-old Tyson Gaymon.
Gaymon survived the gunshot wounds to his torso and an arm, but Feamster died later at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
The shootings occurred next to the 104 building near Clancy Street. Gaymon was found lying in a breezeway, and Feamster was in an adjoining apartment.
Salisbury Police officer Chris Hamm was off duty and working security when he heard the gunshots on the other side of the Clancy Hills complex. He was the officer who first located the wounded men.
In May, according to Post reports, Toomer was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a felon. He had served three months in prison in 2006 for possession of stolen goods.
