Drugs found in keychain, man charged

Police charged a Salisbury man with drug possession after they found cocaine inside a flashlight keychain during a traffic stop.
Salisbury Police charged Kenneth Dwayne Neely, 48, of the 1300 block of West Horah Street, with felony possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled schedule II substance and misdemeanor no operator’s license.
An officer stopped Neely’s Ford Explorer Monday afternoon on Grim Street after Neely pulled behind a house near there. Neely gave the officer permission to search his vehicle. The officer checked the keychain and found 29 crack rocks in a small plastic bag. The officer seized the drugs and $533 in cash. The drugs were valued at $580. Neely remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond. Neely has been convicted of multiple larcenies.
