SALISBURY — The city’s Historic Preservation Commission will consider a variety of requests when members meet at 5:15 p.m. Thursday in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 217 S. Main St.
The commission will hear requests for the following certificates of appropriateness:
• 121 E. Kerr St., Rowan Investment Company Inc., owner John C. Ketner — Parking lot improvements including paving and striping of parking spaces, landscape installation, lighting installation, brick sidewalk installation.
• 1410 N. Main St., Carolina Eagle L.P., owner; Raymond Bostian, applicant — Committee recommendations from requests made at the April meeting.
• 123 E. Fisher St., Piedmont Players Theatre Inc., owner; Reid Leonard, applicant — Install a multimedia wall sculpture approximately 4 feet 6 inches by 2 feet for the recessed “art wall” between the Norvell Theatre and Chef Santos, to be attached to existing wall with long bolts.
• 117 W. Innes St., Lane Yates, owner; Drew Myers, applicant — Installation of new front door (wooden paned), painted black.
• 721-723 S. Fulton St., Jane Nussman, owner/applicant — Add fluted trim to sides of entry doors in keeping with typical trim of neighboring/similar properties.
• 201 W. Fisher St., Rowan Public Library, owner; Jeff Hall, applicant — Removal of large Sycamore tree and stump.
• 115, 123, 125 E. Henderson St., Miguel LaPuz, owner/applicant — Repair columns on porch due to deterioration and partial collapse of porch, replace stamped metal shingle roof with asphalt architectural shingles, enclose covered rear porch, vegetation control including removal of trees and bushes, restoration of brick driveway on the right side of the property.

Thursday’s agenda also includes committee reports, spring grant recipients and Historic Preservation Month.
The commission also will elect a chairman and vice chairman and swear in new members Daniel J. DeGraaf and Andrew Walker.
