Teenaged neighbors charged with stealing dirt bike

SALISBURY — Rowan County Sheriff’s Office authorities arrested two teenagers Sunday for stealing a $1,500 dirt bike.
William Douglas Duff, 17, and Jacob Tyler Campbell, 16, who both listed addresses on Larin Way, are charged with felony larceny. They were being held Sunday night in the Rowan County Detention Center on $5,000 bond each and are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Campbell was arrested a month ago by sheriff’s deputies and charged with stealing an $850 all-terrain vehicle. The charge is still pending.

KANNAPOLIS — A China Grove man faces drug charges after an arrest Friday by Kannapolis police.
Antonio Lee Smith, 31, of East Beaver Street in China Grove, is charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the Rowan County Detention Center after posting $20,000 and is scheduled to appear in court today.

CONCORD — Concord law enforcement officials on Sunday night apprehended a juvenile who failed to return to secure custody Friday at the Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center in Concord following a home visit in Mecklenburg County.
Officials with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office apprehended the juvenile in Charlotte and were holding him in secure custody until he could be returned to a Division of Juvenile Justice facility today.

KANNAPOLIS — Authorities say a Kannapolis man broke into a storage building Friday on Old Concord Road and took chain saws and other property.
Michael Curtis Rollins, 22, of Evelyn Avenue, is charged with felony breaking or entering and larceny after breaking or entering. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested him Saturday.
Rollins posted $5,000 bond and was released from the Rowan County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
