Old Time Fiddlers’ Convention set for March 29-30 in Union Grove

UNION GROVE — The Old Time Fiddlers’ Convention will return this year March 29-30 at the VanHoy Farms on Jericho Road.
Promoters are calling it the best in bluegrass and old-time music. More than $10,000 will be given away in prize money to the best bands and individuals in bluegrass and old-time music categories.
Music will be performed on two stages.
The main stage — under roof — is the H.P. VanHoy Arena with seating for 10,000 people. A second stage will be outside by the “Old Tobacco Barn.
VanHoy Farms is a full-service campground and can accommodate everyone, from full hookups to primitive tent sites.
Tickets are $10 for Friday, March 29 and $15 for Saturday. Two-day advanced ticket are $20. Kids 12 and under are free. Additional information on reservations and pricing for full hookup camping, tent and primitive camping is available by phone.
Food vendors will be on site during the event. A general store will be open during the convention and will be selling camping supplies, food, water and ice.
The Old Time Fiddlers Convention will be a family event. No alcohol and no drugs may be brought into the campground. Other rules and restrictions, information on entering bands, workshops and scheduled entertainment will be online at vanhoyfarms.com.
