Hildebrand Road was blocked off Saturday night after two people were found shot to death.

The first reports came in of two victims in a truck at 520 Hildebrand Road, one shot in the head and the other shot in the stomach. The scene was declared secure and two were confirmed dead, according to emergency scanner traffic at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The victim’s orange and black truck was described as a suspect vehicle earlier in the evening, according to emergency scanner traffic.

It was involved in an “incident” earlier in the day, according to one law enforcement source, who provided no details.

Hildebrand Road is between Sherrills Ford Road and Statesville Boulevard off N.C. 801 in western Rowan County. It’s not far from West Rowan High School.

The road was closed to traffic at the intersection with N.C. 801, and a Post reporter was unable to get closer to the scene.

People could be seen consoling each not far from where traffic was blocked off.
