Four people put in their bids for China Grove Town Council today and a mayoral race is shaping up in Kannapolis as filing continues for municipal seats across Rowan County.
China Grove incumbents Charles Seaford and Brandon Linn joined Byron Lewis and Julius Bivens in making their campaigns official at the Rowan County Board of Elections.
Also filing today were Salisbury Mayor Paul Woodson — for re-election to the Salisbury City Council, which appoints the mayor — incumbent Cleveland Commissioner Travis Summit, and Jacob Fisher Jr. for Granite Quarry alderman.
At the Cabarrus County Board of Elections, Kannapolis councilmen Tom Kincaid and Darrell Hinnant filed for the mayor’s office while newcomer Darrell Jackson filed for City Council.
They’re vying for some of the 42 seats up for election this year in Rowan. Filing continues through noon on July 19.
