Lauren Ashley Collins of Salisbury graduated summa cum laude from East Carolina University Friday May 10, 2013. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. While at East Carolina, Ashley was a Dean’s list student and inducted into the Beta Nu chapter of Sigma Theta International Nursing HonorÕs Society. She attended the North Carolina Nurses Association Convention in 2012. Ashley was a GlaxoSmithKline Women in Science scholar and represented East Carolina at a Biennial Conference from 2010-2013. She also received the Gertrude E. Skelly scholarship 2011-2013 and was a North Carolina Nursing Scholar during her time at East Carolina. Ashley volunteered her time as a Pirate tutor for fellow colleagues in Chemistry, Algebra and Anatomy for three years.

A 2009 honor graduate of East Rowan High School, Ashley is the daughter of Brian and Karen Collins of Salisbury, granddaughter of Jack and Louise Collins of Faith, Philip and Evie Kepley of Granite Quarry, Bobby and Mary Webb of Salisbury and the fiancee of Seth Bennett.

Ashley has accepted a position at CarolinaÕs Medical Center in Charlotte on the Medical Intensive Care Unit.
