Staff report

Active Rowan baseball coaches continue to climb the county’s all-time wins chart.

See Scoreboard.

Bill Kesler, who guided North Rowan for 21 seasons, is still the all-time county leader with 295 victories.

Carson coach Chris Cauble is second on the list with 252 victories.

Cauble was credited with 136 wins at West Rowan and has won 116 at Carson.

Carson logged the 100th win in school history in 2013 when Dillon Atwell led the Cougars to a 5-0 NPC win against West Iredell.

Cauble reached the 250-win milestone in the county when Atwell and John Daugherty led a 4-2 win against West Rowan in the NPC tournament semifinals.

East Rowan coach Brian Hightower is up to sixth on the all-time list.

He’s coached the Mustangs to 180 victories.

Hightower passed former South Rowan coach Ernie Faw (178 wins) during the 2013 season.

Salisbury coach Scott Maddox (138 wins) is now eighth in county history, while South Rowan coach Thad Chrismon is 14th with 71 wins. South has won 37 games the past two seasons, as Chrismon’s record moved well past the .500 mark.

North has had nine baseball coaches. Aaron Rimer (44 wins) already ranks fourth on the school’s all-time list.

Chad Parker (33 wins) is the 12th head coach to serve at West. He’s seventh on the school’s all-time wins list.

It should be no surprise that East has the county’s all-time best record in baseball.

East has won almost 70 percent of its baseball games over the years. East is 793-345 and figures to log win No. 800 early next season.

Carson’s history is short, but the Cougars have won 62.4 percent of their games.

West has won 57.2 percent of the time over the years, posting a record of 637-476.

North has won 54.6 percent of the time and has an all-time record of 607-505.

North’s 600th win came in 2013 when Travis Holshouser beat West Montgomery 3-1.

Loss No. 500 also came in 2013 — when Carson roughed up the Cavaliers 22-1.

South’s all-time mark is 552-497. South has won 52.6 percent of its games.
