Bruce Kluttz of Cleveland is the latest player to win the $750,000 top prize playing the N.C. Education Lottery’s Jumbo Bucks game.
Kluttz purchased his winning ticket, worth $510,003 after taxes were withheld, at the County Line Grocery on Campground Road in Statesville, a news release said.
As of Thursday afternoon, three more $750,000 top prizes remained to be claimed in the Jumbo Bucks game.
Since the lottery began through June 30, 2012, Rowan County education programs received more than $32.5 million in lottery funds. By law, those funds pay for teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, and college scholarships and financial aid based on need.
To date, the N.C. Education Lottery has raised more than $2.9 billion for these initiatives statewide.
