Authorities charged a Salisbury woman with assault after they say she punched an officer following a Thursday incident at a local night club.

Police responded Thursday to Club Xlusive on South Main Street where they found Robin Otto Worth, 29, stabbed in the neck. Salisbury Police investigators said Worth was not cooperative. Tuesday, officers charged a woman they say is Worth’s ex-girlfriend, Deanna Alexandria Scott, 25, with felony assault on an officer.

A report said Scott punched Salisbury Police Officer J.A. Vail after he stopped her from getting into an ambulance with Worth, who was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Worth was taken into surgery and has since been released from the hospital.

Scott has been convicted of possession of stolen goods, resisting arrest, misdemeanor larceny and trespassing, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety website. Police said Worth was at the club with his new girlfriend Thursday.

No arrest has been made in the stabbing.

Worth has a lengthy criminal history, including breaking and entering, resisting arrest, driving while impaired, drug possession, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and common law robbery.
