The US 29 connector will be reopened by 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6. During this time, all northbound traffic on North US 29 will be required to exit onto westbound N.C. 152 Hwy to North Main Street. The detour will be as follows:
Take the exit toward US 29 North (N. Main Street)
Merge onto US 29 North (N. Main Street)
Continue on US 29 North (N. Main Street) for 2.4 miles.
Turn right onto Webb Road.
Follow Webb Road for 0.75 mile to Junction with I-85.
Turn left onto the I-85 North entrance ramp.
In addition, traffic on westbound NC 152 wishing to access I-85 North will follow the detour along North Main Street.
Changeable message boards and/or signing will be used throughout the detour route to guide traffic.

The closure of the US 29 Connector bridge will provide a safe workzone for both the construction workers and the traveling public while construction crews place a new latex modified concrete overlay on the bridge that carries the US 29 Connector over I-85.
