Opening reception for Catawba professor set for Saturday

A reception for new work by Ashley Pierce will be held at Looking Glass Artists Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

An opening reception for new work by Catawba College art professor Ashley Pierce will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Looking Glass Artists Center’s black box theater.

Thee large works on paper in ink and acrylic are mostly abstract and pattern based work.


Pierce’s latest work moves toward representational, especially figurative subject matter.

The art will remain on display through the end of July and be featured during the annual Chickweed event Saturday, July 13.

Entry is free and refreshments will be served.
